The first climb of many towards the lighthouse on formentor. Road surface in good condition but watch out as it gets very busy here. My preference here is rather the descent where you can take speed well
An absolute must if you are travelling on Mallorca by bike.
A super climb and a beautiful start to the Formentor ride but leave early in the morning! It gets very busy!
Must do! Nice steady climb, prefer the descent tho! Great road surface with views across the bay. Plenty of good cafes to stop at in pollensa to chat about the great ride!
The first ascent to the lighthouse remains in my memory mainly because of the beautiful views. Regularly look aside or over your shoulder as you can see Port Pollenca and all the boats in the bay beautifully. The climb itself has, apart from the first 200m, perfect tarmac. It was very busy with traffic though.
This first climb is part of a series of climbs on a beautiful road an Polença to Cap de Formentor. After a number of hairpin bends, you drive along the wall with the valley to the left where Polença lies and you can see far across the sea. I have done this climb several times and there was a treacherous wind each time. So be careful on this descent. At the top is a nice viewpoint with parking and a kiosk to get something to eat and drink.

Vacation in Mallorca. My wife and son let me take a ride to the Formentor lighthouse on a somewhat rough day. I rented a bike in Alcúdia (an interesting walled city but overcrowded with tourists) and off I went. 55km with manageable climbs. The first few kilometers were flat to warm up, and then the climbs and incredible landscapes began. Many cyclists were doing this route at different paces. Unfortunately, the number of cars was enormous, even on an ugly day.
The climb had some challenging slopes but was manageable. The viewpoint at the end of the climb is worth a stop.
The ride to Cap de Formentor lighthouse are three relatively short climbs including last very short climb to the lighthouse itself (max 3km). They are definitely light climbs. The drive, tarmac, views are beautiful. Traffic (cars, buses, trucks) in May holiday was really terrible 😢 On that basis, I would give three stars. The road was completely open to traffic up to the lighthouse despite other reports here. Watch out when going downhill for idiot drivers overtaking on blind bends!
Awesome climb, great scenery over to the sea. Road surface is pretty good but there is a steady stream of traffic. Mostly respectful of all the cyclists though.
Nice climb from Port de Pollença, like most roads quite a lot of cars with day trippers to the cape. Quite a runner with a good overview, the descent is therefore also beautiful. The views on top of the rocks (just get off) are definitely worth it! The climb from the other side is even more beautiful, but if you cycle to the cape, you will find it on the way back!
