The Cenise is a bit in the shade of Plateau de Glieres, which is close by, but I prefer this one to the Glieres. Quieter, more height meters and just as steep. Disadvantage is that you can't ride your road bike all the way to the top. The beginning is fairly constant, around 10 percent, but it is easy to find a pace. But the heaviness is in the tail at the Cenise. At the junction with the road to Paradis, there is a nice stretch with lots of hairpins, which takes your mind off it for a while. But more often, it's around 13 %. At 1460-1470 meters, the first part is unpaved. Don't stop here, but ride on for a bit, because it will be asphalt again! The climax is here, there is another part asphalted until a parking place at 1560 meters, and this part goes up to 19%! I was almost at a standstill, but with the parking lot in sight, I just managed to get the right amount of energy out of it to cycle all the way up to there.
