Climbed at the beginning of April in fine weather.
Quite a tough climb, not many places to recover as the percentage rarely goes below 7％ ( 8.5％ average on the climb).
I thought it'd be a quiet spot, but there's a lot of traffic for the area.
The asphalt alternates between good and bad sections.
The climb is entirely through the forest, with a view of the Petit Ballon at the top. Must be tried at least once.

Montée assez dure, pas beaucoup d'endroit ou récupérer car le pourcentage descend rarement sous les 7％ ( 8.5％ de moyenne sur la montée).
Je pensait que c'était un endroit calme, mais le trafic est important pour le coin.
L'asphalte alterne entre de bons et de mauvais tronçons.
La montée se fait entièrement dans la forêt avec au sommet une vue sur le Petit Ballon. At tenter au moins une fois.
Nice climb with very good road surface, in the beginning a few bends then a long straight up.
A bit remote from the other famous climbs, partly because it is not a continuous paved road (but there is a fantastic restaurant at the top). We then did a 4km unpaved bumpy road to Firstplan to cycle via Wasserbourg to the Petit Ballon.
Mooie beklimming met zeer goed wegdek, in het begin een paar bochten daarna een lang recht stuk omhoog.
Wel ietwat afgelegen van de overige bekende beklimmingen mede doordat het geen doorlopende verharde weg is (wel een fantastisch restaurant op de top). Wij hebben daarna een 4km onverharde hobbelweg gedaan naar Firstplan om via Wasserbourg naar de Petit Ballon te fietsen.
A very quiet climb, largely through forest. Despite the average ascent of 8 to 9 percent, it is quite manageable. The percentages do not change much :) The road is quite narrow everywhere though, and every now and then you will encounter a car. So pay attention. Unfortunately, there are hardly any views, but at the very top you have an auberge with a terrace where the view is very nice indeed (see photo).
Een heel rustige beklimming, grotendeels door bos. Ondanks dat het gemiddeld 8 à 9 procent stijgen is, is deze goed te doen. De percentages veranderen namelijk niet veel :) De weg is echter wel overal redelijk smal en af en toe kom je wel een auto tegen. Wel opletten dus. Vergezichten zijn er helaas nauwelijk, echter helemaal bovenop heb je een auberge met een terras waarop het uitzicht wel degelijk zeer fraai is (zie foto).
