Really nice climb, tarmac is quite good and it’s really steady, always around 8%, many times above 10%.
If you use GPS computer it will probably mark less speed and more steep grade than real.
Important to find your pace, do not take it too hard in the first 2-3 km or you will pay it afterwards.
If you live in the nearabouts it’s a must do, I recommend taking the downhill and climb up until Grand Cucheron afterwards, I would say that the two climbs combined are HC for sure.
You need to be somewhat well trained to take it I believe

A nice climb, quite difficult and very steady, you have to find your rhythm and it goes well.
The 8% average is there and I think we're still between 7 and 9. I've rarely seen such a regular pass.
The place looks pretty busy with cyclists, there were 6 or 7 of us doing it almost at the same time on a cool summer morning, that's motivating 😀
At the top I turned around and after 1 km took the direction of "la table", the road is quiet with a magnificent view.

The Col de Champ-Laurent certainly doesn't have the makings of a major climb, neither by its altitude of 1116m, nor by its length of 10 to 14Kms depending on the side and the cyclist on holiday will prefer it ( and it's quite understandable ) to the Alpine Giants.
Yet well known to cyclists in the region, it has a reputation for a particularly tough climb on its northern side, Lg10,1kms D820m %8,1.
And having climbed it several times I can only testify to this.
There are several ways to reach the summit but the ascent to the North side via Chamoux sur Gelon is the best known.
In the middle of the village, take the D25 towards Champ-Laurent. Be careful not to confuse it with the Montendry direction (the ascent is also detailed on Climbfinfer).
It goes up steeply in a few hairpin bends, then the road goes along the side of the mountain, then the bends are very narrow almost to the top. The ascent is often done in the woods, at the 9th kilometer, leave on the right the road which goes down on the Rochette to spin right in direction of Champ-Laurent the smallest village of Savoy (no trade)
In the crossing, a drinking water point on the right, very fresh.
It remains 1 kilometer to join the top, point of splendid sight on the solid masses of Maurienne.
Overall the road is good but you have to avoid the gravel period.
I attach the map with all the access possibilities, because the one by Chamoux is not the most beautiful.
There is the possibility of making the loop by the Col du Grand Cucheron.
Good road, be careful.

Bonne route, soyez prudents.
