I found it harder than Bwlch-y-Groes from Llanymawddwy but maybe I was on an off day? The climb is unrelenting - 700m of brutal gradients >25% places which only ease slightly to give a further 700m of harsh climbing to the top. For a steep, narrow, country lane there is more traffic than expected. The crux of the climb is an 'S' bend by the church which hits 25-30%. You'll probably go to the right-hand side of the left-hander to gain a marginally easier gradient before switching to the left-hand side of the right-hander that follows immediately. As you're all over the road fighting to get an easier line this is the one place you do not want to meet an oncoming vehicle.
