It's a decent climb, and a good alternative to the more commonly used Chearsley to Long Crendon Road, which is a rollercoaster and can get a bit sprinty. The Chilton climb, on the other hand, is much more steady, and one that you can dig into. Scenery is good when descending it, but you won't see much of it going up. It floods deeply under the bridge in winter, and you can also get a lot of surface water running down it in winter, which can be muddy due to farm traffic.... read more

A steady little climb. Low traffic and reasonable surface means it’s nice, but there are nicer climbs nearby.
