There are various routes around the Castell, but I chose to do the one from Villanova and storm the castle twice. Although you can't really see the complex from up close, it's a super area for a round trip. My tour was 28 km with 750 altimeters.... through quiet villages where time stands still and people greet each other on the street. Where your carbon bike costs more than the average car, but where Spanish life is really lived. The cyclist is respected and the environment is stunning. The climb is relaxed, if you want to attack somewhere it is at 600 metres before the top, it seems to remain quiet so through the woods but then the road rises and it becomes very steep, those who have enough go on the pedals and have enough time at the top to rest and look at the surroundings.
