Carenno from Calolziocorte

Done in winter it is freezing cold, up to Rossino up a hairpin bend that is never steep, afterwards slightly steeper but steady, little traffic but present

I have nicknamed it the Selvino brianzola. In common with the famous Bergamo climb are the numerous hairpin bends and the constant, never excessive gradient, which makes this asperity perfect for training. A very scenic climb and exposed to the sun, these aspects always make it a pleasure to ride. It's just a shame about the traffic, which is always fairly heavy at the weekend.

Nice climb. To be done together with the one at Erve. Going up from Calolziocorte at a certain point there is a fork in the road: first go left to Erve, then you are forced to go down the same way (there are no exits) and back at the fork you go up towards Carenno. If you go on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon I suggest a stop in Rossino to visit the old church of San Lorenzo Martire. At the top of Carenno, you can continue for three kilometres in the direction of the hamlet of Boccio: a tough climb. At a certain point, however, you will have to turn back. If instead you have a mountain bike or gravel bike, you can continue to the Pertus lake.

Very rideable climb and just right for the leg, alternating between the initial village and the solitude of nature, little traffic and a decent road.
