Road names: Common Lane & Caper Hill

Harder than Chimney Bank. DO NOT CROSS the middle part of the "road". I did and came a cropper as I slipped on the moss in the middle of the road and had to unclip. Its pretty much impossible to get going again (for me anyway!) A chap walking down held me while I got clipped in and gave me a push and was able to continue, but what a slog. I goes on for ever! But as we all know, its worth it from the top! Good luck!... read more

Did this climb as part of the Yorkshire Beast event, just before heading over to, and up, Rosedale Chimney. To my mind this was the harder climb of the two, getting like the gradient hovered between 18% and 19% for most of the way up. It's more enclosed and so less scenic than it's more famous neighbour though.
