After 400 metres you come to a wall. Short but cracking if you don't have the right gears. On the other hand, the view is beautiful. It's like reaching for the sky.

A nightmare for those who like to pick up the pace and climb in peace. A concentrate of quality for those who instead appreciate variation.
You start in Valle San Giorgio with three easy panoramic hairpin bends with views of the southern hills. Then you turn right onto a narrow and very steep road, which after four hundred metres offers a jump up to 20%. Two more short but not easy stretches, which nonetheless present a beautiful panoramic view, precede a fairly downhill section. A couple of bends with bad asphalt, therefore to be tackled with great caution, inaugurate the second part of the climb, which starts in the woods with a ramp that is not at all easy (nothing comparable to the initial part) and then fades into a short straight stretch in the sun that leads to the village of Calaone. This climb, known by the name of "Le grate" due to the presence of transversal drainage grates that make it quite dangerous to do it in the opposite direction, is as uneven as can be found in the Euganean Hills.
