A magnificent climb though a short series of serpentines to the crown of the dam. From the dam you have a wonderful view of the lake and the surrounding mountains. You can go around the whole lake and use a fantastic footbridge to cross to the other side of the lake, where you can use the Maria Antonina hotel and restaurant. There is also canoe and pedal boat hire.

This climb will get you from the base of the artificial dam to the top of it, using a series of hairpin turns. It doesn't get more beautiful than this - lake is surrounded by hills covered with deciduous forest that change colours with the seasons. There is a bike-accessible road running through the crown of the dam, providing stunning views.
Be sure to circle the whole lake around. It's worth stopping in the Fregata restaurant for a coffee break!
