Mean steep climb, but not very long. Road surface is good and occasional nice views to forget the pain for a while
Gemeen steil klimmetje, maar niet heel lang. Wegdek is goed en af en toe een mooi stukje uitzicht om de pijn even te vergeten
From the valley, you can already see the castle. It is therefore cool to know that you will climb up to it and then continue up the hill yourself. After you cross the narrow bridge, the climb begins. I found the first turns quite doable. Then it goes straight for a long time with faint bends and gets steeper. My bike computer indicated percentages of 10％ and more here and there. When you pass the castle you have had the hardest part but are past the halfway point of the slope. You continue climbing towards the village and have the occasional nice view. If you enter the descent at the top towards Bürden and Ettelbruck you have another great view of the castle!
Vanuit het dal zie je het kasteel al liggen. Het is dan ook gaaf om te weten dat je hier naartoe gaat klimmen en daarna zelf nog verder de heuvel op gaat. Nadat je het smalle bruggetje over bent begint de klim. De eerste bochten vond ik goed te doen. Daarna loopt het lang een beetje rechtuit met flauwe bochten en wordt het steiler. Mijn fietscomputer gaf hier en daar percentages van 10％ en meer aan. Wanneer je langs het kasteel komt dan heb je het zwaarste gehad maar ben je past op de helft van de helling. Je klimt verder naar het dorp en hebt zo af en toe een mooi uitzicht. Als je bovenop de afdaling in gaat richting Bürden en Ettelbruck dan heb je nog een schitterend zicht op het kasteel!
Today I cycled up this climb. I have now climbed all variants to bourscheid. I think this one is the toughest. Especially the part to the castle is quite straight and hard. The other climbs have hairpin turns where you can take your foot off the gas. A beautiful climb with beautiful views it is absolutely!
Vandaag deze klim opgefietst. Daarmee heb ik nu alle varianten naar bourscheid beklommen. Daarvan is deze toch wel de zwaarste vind ik. Zeker het stuk naar het kasteel is vrij rechtuit en goed zwaar. De andere klimmetjes hebben haarspeldbochten waar je heel even gas terug kunt nemen. Een schitterende klim met mooie uitzichten is het absoluut!
The road is in very good condition, as usual in the Grand Duchy. Beware that some cars can drive fast, but on the whole the traffic is calm. Nice views of the castle on the way up.
Très bon état de la route, comme d'habitude au Grand Duché, attention certaines voitures peuvent rouler vite, mais dans l'ensemble le trafic est calme. Belles vues sur le château lors de la montée.
Cycled from Bourscheid La Plage to Bourscheid. Started the climb nice and cold. Nice ongoing climb, tough parts in between, but otherwise easy to do. On busy days quite some traffic because of the castle on the way.
Vanaf Bourscheid La Plage naar Bourscheid gefietst. Lekker koud aan de klim begonnen. Mooie lopende klim, pittige stukjes tussen, maar verder prima te doen. Op drukke dagen aardig wat verkeer mogelijk vanwege het kasteel onderweg.
