Setting off from Samer, we quickly hit a rough patch after leaving the Desvres road with its steep gradients.
En partant de Samer, on est vite dans le dur après avoir quitté la route de Desvres avec de beaux pourcentages.
After leaving Samer the road starts going up slowly. This part you drive on the D52 direction Dever and it is quite busy with traffic. For over a kilometre this road goes up, sometimes flat, sometimes a bit more than flat. Just before you turn right to leave the D52 it starts to get steeper. A look back gives a nice view over the town of Samer. From here on it is a few hundred meters to climb at steep percentages. The road leads through a forest and is wide, with the asphalt in good condition. But also a bit monotonous.
Nadat je Samer uitgereden bent begint het al snel langzaam omhoog te lopen. Dit stuk rijdt je op de D52 richting Dever en is vrij druk met verkeer. Ruim een kilometer gaat het over deze weg omhoog, soms valsplat, soms net iets meer dan valsplat. Net voordat je naar rechts de D52 verlaat begint het steil op te lopen. Een blik achterom geeft een fraai uitzicht over het stadje Samer. Vanaf hier is het enkele honderde meters harken aan fikse percentages. De weg gaat door een bos en is breed en het asfalt in goede staat. Maar ook een beetje monotoom.
