Beautiful climb with nice views over the Meuse valley. The road surface is pretty bad at the start, but once you enter the forest, there has been new asphalt like a billiard cloth for a while now.
Prachtige klim met mooi uitzicht over de Maasvallei. Het wegdek is bij het begin wel redelijk slecht, maar eenmaal het bos in ligt er sinds een tijdje nieuw asfalt als een biljartlaken.

Nice climb that goes largely through the woods. Like many hills on this ridge, it is certainly not an easy climb and the percentages are largely in the double digits. However, since the direct alternative to this climb is Tesny, we can certainly speak of the 'easy option'.
Mooie klim die grotendeels door het bos loopt. Zoals vele hellingen die op deze heuvelrug liggen is het zeker geen makkelijke beklimming en zijn de percentages grotendeels in de dubbele cijfers. Echter aangezien het directe alternatief voor deze beklimming Tesny is, kunnen we toch zeker spreken van de 'makkelijke optie'.
The Bois de la Dame is a tough climb! Very steep and if you have to take the inside bend you really have to use your pedals, otherwise you'll fall down! The climb starts between houses and slowly moves into a less built up area. The traffic is present, but not as bad as on major through roads. The road surface is quite muddy in winter and full of stones. That is a bit of a problem when descending.
De Bois de la Dame is een stevig klimmetje! Goed steil en als je de binnenbocht moet pakken moet je echt op de pedalen omdat je anders omvalt! De klim begint tussen de huizen en komt langzaamaan in wat minder bebouwd gebied. Het verkeer is aanwezig, maar niet zo erg als op grote doorgaande wegen. Het wegdek is in de winter vrij blubberig en ligt vol met stenen. Dat is even uitkijken als je er gaat afdalen.
Beautiful climb, but really tough. I was glad that I had not planned it at the end of my trip ... It remains quite long really steep so you have no time to recover. Absolute recommendation!
Prachtige klim, maar echt wel pittig. Ik was blij dat ik hem niet aan het eind van mijn tocht had ingepland... Het blijft behoorlijk lang echt steil zodat je nergens tijd hebt om te herstellen. Absolute aanrader!

As I don't like raking, I went up Bois de la Dame today.
Nice climb in the double digits and with hairpins approaching 20%. A piece of the "Alps" close to home.

Aangezien ik niet zo van harken houd, vandaag Bois de la Dame op gegaan.
Mooie klim in de dubbele cijfers en met haarspeldbochten die tegen de 20% aanlopen. Een stukje "Alpen" dichtbij huis.
