You'll usually approach this climb from Mazee, via the N99 from Viroinval (west) or Doische (east). This way you skip a part that is not really worth the effort anyway. From Mazee the climb starts on a well maintained bicycle track. So there are no cars. That is a good thing, because the path is very narrow.

The first 100m are not too steep, on asphalt of poor quality where you have to pedal vigorously. After this the path changes to concrete, which is a nicer ride. Here begins immediately the climbing. On average, it is 700m to 9% from here, but there are short sections of up to 14% where you really shouldn't stop. When you get to the four-way junction, there are three directions to go. To the left is a steep descent to Treignes, which unfortunately has a bad road surface. To the right you stay on bicycle paths and you climb a bit further to Niverlee. Going straight on is not advisable, because this is a non asphalted forest path with stones.
