Very tough climb, which starts idyllically (but steeply) in Ediger-Eller on the Moselle. On the cobblestones you wind through the beautiful village, passing under a half-timbered house before the road turns into asphalt. Once you leave the village, it remains steep until the first hairpin bend. Along the way (as with many climbs in the area), Jesus' crusade is depicted.
After a few hairpins, it gets very steep again and this continues (ranging from steep to very steep) until you arrive at the holiday park and golf course at the top.
Zeer pittige beklimming, wat idyllisch (maar steil) begint in Ediger-Eller aan de Moezel. Over de kasseien slinger je door het prachtige dorpje, onder een vakwerk huisje door waarna de weg overgaat in asfalt. Zodra je het dorp verlaat blijft het steil tot de eerste haarspeldbocht. Onderweg staat (zoals bij veel beklimmingen in de omgeving) de kruistocht van Jezus afgebeeld.
Na een aantal haarspeldbochten word er weer erg steil en dit houdt aan (variërend van steil tot heel steil) tot je aankomt bij het vakantiepark en golfbaan op de top.
You start from the Moselle steeply through the village to find the track straight up. The slope faces south and can be very warm. Maybe good for the Riesling, but not for me. Just before you leave the village there is a fountain where you can cool down before you start the steep work! To distract you can look at pictures of the crusade of Jesus ... how appropriate.
Je vertrekt van aan de Moezel steil door het dorpje om de baan recht naar boven te vinden. De helling is naar het zuiden gericht en kan dus heel warm zijn. Misschien goed voor de Riesling, maar niet aan mij besteed. Net voordat je het dorpje verlaat is er nog een fontein waar je nog kan afkoelen voordat je aan het steile werk begint! Ter afleiding kan je afbeeldingen van de kruistocht van Jezus bekijken … hoe toepasselijk.
