I wouldn't say this is worth a diversion. Nothing special, a small climb in a residential area. When I passed it, though, it was very quiet (Sunday morning).
Ik zou niet zeggen dat dit een omweg waard is. Niets speciaal, een klein klimmetje in een woonwijk. Toen ik er voorbij kwam was het wel heel rustig (zondagochtend).
It can be taken at speed from the main road (with caution, of course), then winds up through a quiet residential area.
Valt vanop de grote baan met snelheid te nemen (natuurlijk met de nodige voorzichtigheid), daarna kronkelt deze door een rustige woonwijk omhoog.
This climb is not complete, you have to start from the Durmedal "Wareslagestraat" and then cross the busier road to the Bergstraat, it also runs a little bit through the Frank Baurstraat. This is the combo on the Waasmunster Cuesta that gives you the most altitude meters on a short distance. You can start from the dike between the Durme bridge and the Mira bridge.
Deze beklimming is niet compleet, je moet vertrekken vanuit het Durmedal "Wareslagestraat" en dan de drukkere weg oversteken naar de Bergstraat, hij loopt ook nog een klein beetje door in de Frank Baurstraat. Dit is op de Waasmunster Cuesta de combo die je meteen het meeste hoogtemeters bezorgd op korte afstand. Je kan aanzetten vanaf de dijk tussen Durmebrug en Mirabrug.
Given the fact that Stationsstraat is a somewhat busier street to cross and at the end of Wareslagestraat there is a stop sign, we have deliberately chosen to start the climb at Bergstraat. Unfortunately this means that the first few altitude meters are lost.
Gezien het feit dat de Stationsstraat een wat drukkere straat is om over te steken en aan het einde van de Wareslagestraat ook nog eens nadrukkelijk een stopbord staat, hebben we er bewust voor gekozen de klim pas bij de Bergstraat te laten starten. Helaas vallen hierdoor de eerste paar hoogtemeters weg.
