I climbed it last summer, while I was travelling to the sea in the province of La Spezia from my hometown of Varese. I remember looking up every possible route on google maps to avoid a long climb 😅. But I gave up, realising that I would have to climb over the Apennines somewhere, so I decided to do it from Ghiare towards Berceto. A place I already knew, having driven through a few times, and having stopped to eat in its restaurants, where porcino ❤ is the basis of their culinary products.
Well, the climb was quite tough for yours truly, having previously racked up some kilometres due to the state of my legs. I remember that I stopped several times, and between the effort and the heat, I drank several litres of water. Anyway, I recommend the climb, the views I remember were pretty, plus the vivid advice to stop and eat in one of its restaurants 😉.
