The first climbs start in Münstertal. From here it is 20 km up and down to Belchen.
At Wiederner Eck at 1035 m, we turn off and after a few kilometres take the turnoff to Belchen's cable cars.
At the large car park we think we can't go any further, but a German lady on a road bike knows the route.
It's a bit unpaved and just past the barrier for the last 4 pretty steep kilometres to the Belchenhaus, a restaurant on the summit.
The view here is formidable. By the way, quite a few cyclists ride up here.

A long, steady climb of 17 km with nice views of the valley along the way, followed by a 3 km descent to the Belchen Seilbahn. Arriving at the cable car, you briefly have to cross a stretch of gravel, leaving you wondering whether you are following the correct route. Before you can answer that, the gravel strip ends and you are back on normal asphalt. So don't let this put you off. What follows is another 4 km climb to one of the highest peaks of the Black Forest. This last section is also fairly even, but with a slightly higher gradient. At the top, the reward consists of panoramic views and the opportunity to have something to eat and/or drink at Gasthof Belchen.

Superb climb. Very long, but nowhere really steep, so easy to do.
The last 4 km, it becomes more open and you have a beautiful view. The Vosges, Jura and Alps can be seen when the weather is clear enough.

Schitterende klim.

Nice climb that starts calmly in the valley and gradually gets steeper, but never really steep...very nice views...at the top of the parking lot right down to the sign Belchenbahn and there right steeply up, behind the cable car along the gravel path and then 4 km climbing to the top...breathtaking views
