Fun climb on the edge of the Bear Forest. The climb starts in Haanrade and ends towards Roderlandbaan. The devil is in the first part of the climb where the gradients enter the double digits. after that it is false flat to the top. Depending on time of year, there can sometimes be a lot of debris on the road surface.
Leuke klim aan de rand van het Berenbos. De klim start in Haanrade en eindigt richting de Roderlandbaan. Het venijn zit in het eerste deel van de klim waar de stijgingspercentages de dubbele cijfers ingaan. daarna is het vals plat tot de top. Afhankelijk van tijd van het jaar kan er soms veel rommel op het wegdek liggen.
A nice bike path from the top with a nice view (looking back). The path meanders slightly at first and then makes a nice right-left turn. The path was partly covered with a thin layer of sand but that was due to forestry (the path was actually at the time of the ride with a fence and "forbidden to drive" ;-)). Furthermore, the tarmac is in reasonable condition. All in all a nice climb.
Een mooi fietspad van bovenaan mooi uitzicht (achterom kijkend dan wel). Het pad slingert eerst enigszins waarna er een mooie rechts-links bocht volgt. Het pad was deels bedekt met een dun laagje zand maar dat was vanwege bosbouw (het pad was ten tijde van de rit eigenlijk ook met een hek afgezet en "verboden in te rijden" ;-)). Verder is het asfalt in redelijke staat. Al met al een leuke klim.
Not very good tarmac. Many branches etc. on the road. With a gravel or mountain bike easy to do, with a road bike perhaps less pleasant to ride.
Niet al te best asfalt. Veel takjes e.d. op de weg. Met een gravelbike of mountainbike prima te doen, met een racefiets misschien wat minder fijn om te rijden.
