Did this climb (started all the way by the sea at the station) on a tour of the Lake District. Like all climbs here, it is quite steep, and although not as hard as, say, the Hardknott pass, there are really steep sections of up to 20% in here. Road surface fine. Not too wide road, with not too much traffic that can drive fast. Nice about this climb is the beautiful view of the English landscape with walls, hedges and heather, and the Duddon estuary and the Irish Sea.
