It's a fairly short but steep climb. Starting in Case Gazzoli, once you cross the bridge on the Chiarone stream, the ascent starts with double digit gradients. It will continue to do so with little respite for half of the climb, until you reach the village of Azzano. After that, the climb continues but eases off a bit for the most part. Traffic can be light, but on weekends you may find more cars as people reach this area for hikes and eating out.
