Climb to the small winter resort of Auron, part of the three "Stations Nice-Cote d'Azur", cycled up in August 2018 as I rode coming from the Col de la Bonette towards Isola.

After turning off the main road there is a typically wide access road built for ski touring traffic to climb firmly out of the valley. Long straight stretches that seem like a real wall (8%) because you're progressing slowly and it's hard to estimate the gradient.
Just before Auron, which is quite quiet in summer, the climb goes down with 2 hairpin bends and then you cross the tourist village and turn left to the opposite slope with a view on the ski centre.
Climb and asphalt road ends slowly on large summer parking lot of ski Chastellares.

There are info signs every km. from the foot of the climb after leaving the main road.
