A nice cut through from Siedlinghausen to the Kahler Asten, but a pretty untidy one. Fortunately, most of it follows a cycle route so the white-red signs can help. In the first part, you follow a nice little valley. Then you enter the winter sports area and the road becomes more of a rollercoaster as it goes up and down and quite twisty in the process. At the ramp, a very steep descent (I estimate about'n 20％) after which the climb really starts. Here it goes up quite steeply and after the hairpin bend it continues like this for a while. Slowly the slope decreases until the end. At the end, you can cross over to enter Winterberg. Straight ahead it rises for a while but the cycle path turns into a dirt track further on. Here you can turn onto the main road heading south as it has a wide shoulder.
In terms of stars, it's hard to tell. Because of the special character of the climb ánd the surroundings (there are lots of things to see) a bonus star.
Een mooie doorsteek vanuit Siedlinghausen naar de Kahler Asten, maar wel een behoorlijk onoverzichtelijke. Gelukkig volgt je het grootste deel een fietsroute dus de witrode bordjes kunnen helpen. In het eerste deel volg je een mooi dalletje. Daarna kom je in het wintersportgebied en wordt de weg meer een achtbaan want het gaat op en neer en daarbij ook behoorlijk bochtig. Bij de schans een zeer steile afdaling (ik schat zo'n 20％) waarna de klim echt begint. Hier loopt het behoorlijk pittig omhoog en na de haarspeldbocht blijft het nog wel even zo doorgaan. Langzaam neemt de helling af tot het eind. Bij het einde kan je oversteken om Winterberg in te gaan. Rechtdoor loopt het nog even op maar het fietspad gaat verderop over in een onverhard pad. Hier kan je wel de hoofdweg op richting het zuiden want deze heeft een brede schouder.
Qua sterren moeilijk aan te geven. Vanwege het aparte karakter van de klim én de omgeving (er valt van alles te zien) toch een bonusster.
