Slightly worse surface than on the ascent from Motril. The road to Gualchos is not very interesting, leading through an urban area. Passing through this village, it is worth stopping at La Ventera - a hotel and bar run by a cyclist and for cyclists. Above Gualchos it gets beautiful and interesting. The road there is not much used, you have to watch out for the stones that lie there sometimes. Further on, you can still go up towards Lujar or go down to Motril (a very exciting descent!).... read more
