The Cannobina Valley hides some very tough climbs, among which, in addition to the one in the review, I could mention the one to Falmenta and Crealla or the one to Cursolo-Spoccia and Gurrone. This can be ideally divided into three sections: the first tough one from the bridge that makes up the height with three rather steep hairpin bends, the second that leads to the village of Gurro (however tough and close to 10% and the one after Gurro that leads to Alpe Piazza. The latter section is the toughest with gradients of 15-16% for long stretches. I tackled it on a 130-kilometre tour starting from Candoglia in Val D'Ossola and had tackled the climb in Val vigezzo, Valle Loana and Pian di Sali, so I didn't arrive there very fresh and suffered. However, I would recommend it: almost non-existent traffic, steep and narrow road but in good condition. very hard gradients in the finale. I wouldn't tackle it on a day that is too hot: it is very exposed to the sun and you are not at high altitude.
