16/9/2024. Starting from Bellano, the first 2 km are "challenging" then up to 1,000 metres the gradients are not particularly steep. The last six kilometres, on the other hand, are quite hard and - in my opinion - averaging 10％. Traffic is non-existent (but I went up on a Monday). Very clever signposting with the missing km to the finish, the altitude and the average gradients of the next section. good road surface. For the descent, you can choose different roads. There are interesting variants in the vicinity.
16/9/2024. Partito da Bellano, i primi 2 km sono "stimolanti", poi sino ai mille metri di altitudine le pendenze non sono particolarmente elevate. Gli ultimi sei km invece sono abbastanza duri e - secondo me - con una media del 10％. Traffico inesistente (ma sono salito di lunedì). Molto intelligente la segnaletica con i km mancanti all'arrivo, l'altitudine e le medie delle pendenze del tratto successivo. manto stradale buono. Per la discesa si possono scegliere diverse strade. Nei pressi ci sono varianti interessanti.
Classic climb, long and steady but rewarding. Traffic only on summer weekends (mornings uphill, afternoons downhill) but not being a pass, at least few motorbikes are seen.
Classica salita, lunga e costante ma appagante. Traffico solo nei weekend estivi (la mattina in salita, il pomeriggio in discesa) ma non essendo un passo, almeno di moto se ne vedono poche.
Beautiful long climb that starts directly from Bellano via a lot of hairpin bends. From the village you haves great views of Lake Como. You then cycle through the forest and meander through several villages, with the gradients becoming milder. At about 6 kilometres before the summit, the percentages get considerably spicier and the road surface a bit worse too. From 3 kilometres from the summit, you are then treated to stunning views over Lake Como and Lake Lugano beyond. An absolute highlight around Lake Como that is well worth it!
Prachtige lange klim die direct vanaf de rivieroever in Bellano direct via een heleboel haarspeldbochten begint. Vanuit het dorp hb je een prachtig uitzicht op het Comomeer. Daarna fiets je het bos en en slinger je door een aantal dorpen, waarbij de stijgingspercentages milder worden. Op ongeveer 6 kilometer vor de top wordt de percentages flink pittiger en het wegdek ook wat slechter. Vanaf 3 kilometer van de top wordt je vervolgens getrakteerd op prachtige vergezichten over het Comomeer en het daarachter gelegen meer van Lugano. Een absoluut hoogtepunt rond het Comomeer die zeer de moeite waard is!
The ascent from Bellano to Narro where the hard stretch actually begins is very pleasant, often in the shade with a fountain at Vendrogno. Very limited vehicular traffic. Some sand was found on the small bridge on the slightly downhill section about halfway up the climb and this could have been dangerous. The last 6km are definitely tiring especially with temperatures above 30°C.
I would do Vendrogno again excluding the hard section. Coming from a loop that closes on Taceno in an anti-clockwise direction from Premana, Introzzo and Dervio. Good cycling
La salita da Bellano fino a Narro dove effettivamente inizia il tratto duro è molto gradevole spesso in ombra con fontana a Vendrogno. Traffico veicolare limitatissimo. Trovata della sabbia sul ponticello del tratto in leggera discesa a circa metà salita e questo poteva risultare pericoloso. Gli ultimi 6km sono decisamente faticosi specialmente con temperature sopra i 30°C.
Rifarei la Vendrogno escludendo il tratto duro. Arrivando da giro ad anello che si chiude su Taceno in senso antiorario da Premana, Introzzo e Dervio. Ottima pedalata
Nicely tough climb. In high temperature, especially tough at bottom of climb. View at the top is beautiful. Last stretch to the real summit doable on foot. Don't want to go by mountain bike (at least......me not).
Mooi zware klim. Bij hoge temperatuur vooral onderin de klim zwaar. Uitzicht boven is mooi. Laatste stuk naar de echte top goed te doen te voet. Wil niet met de mountainbike (althans......mij niet)
For me, this is one of the most beautiful and challenging climbs on the upper Lake Como. Considered the Gavia of the lake, it is long and steady. You need good legs, especially in the final part.

Una delle salite per me più belle e impegnative dell'alto lago di Como. Considerata il Gavia del lago, è lunga e costante. Serve gamba buona soprattutto nella parte finale.
Bei panorami sul lago salendo e scendendo da Vendrogno.

Beautiful climb on Lake Lecco, fairly long and constant, much of it in the woods, very limited traffic on weekdays, you need cross-country skiing, I recommend a minimum of 34/28 to save your leg. I recommend May and September. ciao.
Bella salita sul lago di Lecco, abbastanza lunga e costante, buona parte in mezzo alla vegetazione del bosco, traffico molto limitato nei giorni feriali, serve fondo , consiglio minimo 34/28 per salvare la gamba. Consiglio maggio e settembre .ciao.
A day that began with rain, which at one point subsided and we drove into a damp dream world filled with low clouds. Magnificent! But of course, the view from the summit was not very good because of this. Next, I cycled to Dervio via the Valvaronne Valley. That is by far the most beautiful place I have ever cycled (even more beautiful than Norway). So tip! After the descent of 'the second part' turn left instead of right back to Bellano.
Een dag die begon met regen, dat trok op een gegeven moment weg en daardoor in een vochtige, met lag wolken gevulde droomwereld gereden. Prachtig! Maar hierdoor was het uitzicht op de top natuurlijk niet best. Vervolgens via de Valvaronnevalei naar Dervio gefietst. Dat is by far het mooiste waar ik ooit gefietst heb (zelfs mooier dan Noorwegen). Dus tip! Ga na de afdaling van 'het tweede deel' linksaf ipv rechtsaf terug naar Bellano.
Erg mooie klim en, zoals gezegd, de laatste 6km behoorlijk pittig. Maar het uitzicht is het uiteindelijk waard.

Nice climb! Last kilometres are the toughest and really weigh on you! But super nice overview on top of the Como lake! Do it if you are in the neighbourhood!
Leuke klim! Laatste kilometers zijn wel de zwaarste en wegen echt door! Wel super mooi overzicht boven op het Como meer! Moet je doen als je in de geburen bent!
Nice long climb, first 15km easy to do, don't go too fast, because you'll find yourself (like me) on the last 5km.....
Mooie lange klim, eerste 15km prima te doen, ga niet te hard, want je komt jezelf (zoals ik) tegen op de laatste 5km…..
