Alpe Bocchetto from Pontegrande

I should point out immediately that the ascent from Pontegrande to Alpe Bocchetto continues asphalted until the 1250 m asl of Piè di Baranca. The thin, narrow ribbon of asphalt ends with a double bend at a wooden bridge over the stream in the middle of nowhere. So, although the climbfinder editorial team stopped in their processing of the ascent without catching the signposts and the Strava segment, you can proceed to the top without any problems. The total number of metres thus rises to 8.3 km and 674 m d+ with an average gradient of 8.1％, which is distorted by the long falsopiano at the Soi alp. The final stretch from Alpe Bocchetto to Piè di Baranca is still hard with gradients always over 10％ with long stretches even at 12-14％ which can put you in a crisis if you have not managed well in the first demanding kilometres. The landscape is very "wild" with virtually no traffic. Along the ascent, at Alpe Bocchetto and Turni there are two drinking fountains, while at the top there is nothing. The road surface is good up to Bannio and after the Bocchetto alp, while it is a little damaged before the Soi alp and the S. Bernado church.
