This climb is not steep, but you can feel it because of the length. From Hastenrath you just follow the road. After leaving the village (very soon) you follow a two-way cycling path with perfect tarmac on the left side of the road and this continues all the way to the traffic lights at the end of the climb. You cycle up through a varied valley and sometimes there are nice views to the rear. In the second part you have a long view on the possible end, although that is slipping further and further away. There it feels just a bit heavier than the slope indicates. Eventually you see the traffic lights looming and you know you're there.
Deze klim is niet steil maar laat zich wel voelen door de lengte. Vanuit Hastenrath volg je even de weg. Na het verlaten van de bebouwde kom (heel snel al) volgt je een tweerichtingsfietspad met perfect asfalt aan de linker kant van de weg en dit loopt volledig door tot de verkeerslichten aan het eind van de klim. Je fietst door een gevarieerd dal omhoog en soms zijn er aardige uitzichten naar achteren. In het tweede deel heb je lang zicht op het mogelijke einde al schuift dat steeds verder op. Daar voelt het net wat zwaarder dan de helling aangeeft. Uiteindelijk zie je de verkeerslichten wel opdoemen en weet je dat je er bent.
