Zeker met een oosten wind kan dit vals plat veel steiler aanvoelen omdat het hier open is. Naar recht wel een mooi uitzicht richting de vallei. Je pakt hier toch best veel hoogtemeters (122) en kom daar in Nederland maar eens om.
The start of this climb takes just a bit too long. From Warsage you go up between the houses and out of the village. At the roundabout left and then the percentages go up and you start to feel the climb. After a short quiet stretch through Aubin (passing an American war monument) you can start pushing until you reach the road to the fort. Then a flat part with nice views to the right and a final climb.
The second part is varied and nice, but the run up to it is quite long. On the other hand, this already makes for slightly tired legs after which you will feel the rest of the climb a bit more.
Een klim waarbij het begin nét te lang duurt. Vanuit Warsage ga je tussen de huizen relaxed omhoog en het dorp uit. Bij de rotonde links en dan gaan de percentages omhoog en ga je de klim voelen. Nog even een rustig stukje door Aubin (waarbij je een Amerikaans oorlogsmonument passeert) en dan mag je gaan aanzetten tot je bij de weg naar het fort bent. Daarna een vlak stuk met fraai uitzicht naar rechts en nog een eindklimmetje.
Het tweede deel is gevarieerd en lekker, maar de aanloop daar naar toe is best lang. Anderzijds zorgt dat al wel voor iets vermoeide benen waarna je de rest van de klim wat meer gaat voelen.
