The road has only a few not-too-demanding steep sections in the first kilometre, after which the gradient decreases. The condition of the road is very good, but you may encounter traffic in the evenings and at weekends (but less than if you start your climb in Spiezwiler). On the left you can see Lake Thun and the snow-covered Bernese Alps (the Eiger can be seen).
