Spicy route.
Lots of calf bites.
Not suitable for the somewhat untrained cyclist.
Nice challenge with some
beautiful views on the route.

Pittige route.
Veel kuitenbijters.
Niet geschikt voor de wat ongetrainde fietser.
Mooie uitdaging met aantal
mooie vergezichten op de route.

As a seasoned marmottan I did this tour yesterday, and extremely satisfied. There are short sections that are very steep, keep that in mind, also I had over 2800 hm and 125 km on my garmin afterwards, extra dessert, chapeau climbfinder

On 07/06, I finally ventured into this route in preparation for the Maratona d'les Dolomites. At 5h38min cycling I came in. Highly recommended for those who like tough climbs and gentle lanes!!!

Did it yesterday during perfect weather and impressed with the route. Only 10km or so on tracks you really don't feel like doing because of traffic and crowds, all the rest: TOP!

And even though some 'only' 8-9% average, there is always one or more walls in it, so the name of the tour is not stolen.
Only 2 runners as a connecting piece (from spa and to La Redoute).

We have added this one: https://climbfinder.com/en/climbs/annette-et-lubin
Can perfectly fit in the route and also a wall :-)

Drove on 02 July 2021. Very spicy ! Indeed very often between 17-25%. The title really lives up to its name because there are really walls to cross ! The road surface was not always good and especially some descents on bad roads you have to be careful. Highly recommended and best done if you already have climbing experience. Thanks a lot !

Ridden the route today with procycling team Willy. Very nice route, all paved and very clear GPX.
Small addition... this route is not for beginners, make sure you have some climbing experience when you start here. 20 - 25% steepness is not exceptional on this route...
But for the better climber, this is an absolute must!!!

Last week I did this route from Vielsalm, although in two parts. Because of this, the main difficulty was in Malmedy, with Ferme Libert & Route de Saint-Vith. After about 100km these did hurt a lot. Otherwise a challenging and beautiful route, with very little traffic (except for a bit in the center of Malmedy).

This is a route after my own heart! If the current circumstances allow it, I aim to do this route this summer :-) I've already collected some of these steep climbs during an outing last year (Stockeu, Hézalles, Chevron, Sur le Thier and some other less steep climbs like Malchamps) but this is the next level!

Note that one could add the Thier de Coo (depending on the shape of the moment...) but it is true that this would form a rather unnatural loop around Trois-Ponts in this very well traced route, as it never passes the same place twice.

Yesterday I was finally able to do this circuit. It is as difficult as it looks! :-) What's more, the landscapes are beautiful, and the roads are generally very quiet (except for the crossings of Malmedy and Aywaille). The only drawback is the condition of the roads, which varies a lot. Caution is recommended on the downhill sections!

Very nice route indeed. And if you have time, do it both ways.
I did it with 52x36 and a 12-25 cassette. I didn't need the 25. At 61 years old, I ran at an average of 31.7 kmh and 118 pulses, so I was in fundamental endurance.
