Very tough climb! I did it after climbing Chindonne, my legs reminded me of it....
The first (almost) three km are unbreathable, no rest and gradients often in excess of 15%.
After 3km you think you're done because there's a slight descent, but it picks up again. Fortunately the slopes are gentler, but still demanding.
Once you arrive, it's a real treat to be able to contemplate the Teeth of Midi!
Highly recommended for those feeling brave.
Good luck! On a more serious note, the tarmac is in impeccable condition, which is pretty good considering the gradients involved. For me, it was the highlight of a tour that started in Monthey, then Champery, Les Crosets and finished in... What an incredible climax! On the other hand, I strongly advise against going down this road on the other side'it's much more interesting.
Bon courage !
